Nudge

Privacy Policy

Nudge’s reminder features work without an account. Friends is an optional account-based feature powered by Supabase. Nudge does not use advertising or cross-app tracking. This policy explains what the Nudge iPhone app uses and where that information lives.

Nudge does not sell personal information or use your activity for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Information stored on your device

Nudge stores the reminders you create, their dates and recurrence settings, completion history, earned in-app gold, equipped cosmetics, and app preferences locally on your device. This information is used to provide the app’s reminder, recap, and customization features.

Microphone and speech recognition

When you choose to record, Nudge uses microphone access to capture your speech and Apple’s Speech framework to turn it into text. Depending on your device, operating system, language, and Apple’s service availability, speech recognition may use Apple’s services. Nudge does not operate a server that receives your recordings, and Nudge does not retain raw microphone audio after the recognition session ends. The resulting reminder text is stored locally on your device.

Notifications and Live Activities

If you grant permission, Nudge schedules local notifications and may display Live Activities for your reminders. These features use Apple’s system services. Reminder content may appear on your Lock Screen or other system surfaces according to your iPhone notification settings.

Optional location reminders

If you enable arrival reminders, Nudge uses Apple’s Core Location services to save Home, Work, and reminder destination coordinates and detect when you arrive. When you choose to look up an address or place, the search is sent to Apple Maps. Saved coordinates remain on your device and are not sent to Nudge’s Friends or Family service. Background arrival alerts require Always location permission. You can remove Home and Work in Nudge Settings or revoke location access in iPhone Settings.

Optional Friends profiles

If you use Friends, Sign in with Apple authenticates your account through Supabase. Your display name, username, equipped mascot style, color, hat and eyes, level, experience, and friend connections are stored with this service to provide social features. If you enable daily activity sharing, accepted friends can see your completion counts and daily XP. Your private reminder titles and saved location coordinates are not included in this sharing.

Optional Family groups

If you enable Family alerts, Supabase stores an Apple push-notification device token, installation identifier, and notification environment linked to your signed-in profile. These let Nudge send invitation and task-request alerts through Apple Push Notification service. Alert text is generic and does not include task titles, addresses, sender names, or group names. You can turn Family alerts off in Family; signing out disconnects this device when the server is reachable.

Family is separate from Friends. If you use Family, Supabase stores group names, ownership, memberships, invitations, and the task titles and due dates you explicitly send to another member. Group members can see each other’s display names, usernames, and equipped mascots. Task requests are shown to their recipient, who decides whether to add them as local reminders. Joining a Family does not expose your private reminder list, saved locations, or completion history. Leaving a group does not remove reminders already accepted on your device. Group deletion removes its server-stored invitations and task requests.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Nudge currently does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking technology. Nudge does not create advertising profiles or track you across apps or websites.

Retention and deletion

Locally stored Nudge data remains on your device until you remove it through an available in-app action or delete the app. You can revoke microphone, speech-recognition, location, notification, and Live Activity access through iPhone Settings. Signing out or deleting the app does not delete an optional Friends account. Use account deletion in your profile settings, or contact the support address below for help with remote account data.

Website and email updates

If you sign up on this website, your email address and selected email preferences are sent to Resend to manage Nudge’s launch announcements and, if you opt in, occasional development updates. Your subscription starts when you submit the signup form; no separate confirmation email is required. You can unsubscribe through the link in each email. Signing up again does not change an existing address’s email preferences; contact us if you need help changing them.

The website is hosted by Vercel. Vercel and Resend may process technical request information, including IP addresses, to deliver the service and prevent abuse. The website does not include advertising pixels or third-party analytics. The interactive reminder demonstration runs in your browser and does not access the microphone or create real reminders. Contact us for help with your email subscription or a deletion request.

Third-party software and services

Nudge uses Apple system frameworks, Supabase for optional Friends accounts, and the open-source Rive Apple runtime. Third-party software notices and media credits are available on the Acknowledgements page and inside the app.

Children’s privacy

Nudge does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app’s local-first behavior is the same for all users.

Changes to this policy

If Nudge’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version.
